Course Overview:

This crucial training course is designed for emergency responders to effectively manage and respond to emergencies involving the use of detergent in suicide attempts. The course aims to provide responders with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle these situations, offer immediate medical care, and understand the psychological aspects of such emergencies.

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding of Detergent-Related Suicide Attempts: An overview of the prevalence and reasons behind the use of detergent in suicide attempts, including the physical and mental health implications.
  2. Hazard Identification and Safety Measures: Identification of the specific hazards associated with detergent ingestion or exposure, and instruction in the appropriate safety measures and personal protective equipment to use during response.
  3. Medical Intervention Techniques: Training in the immediate medical interventions required for individuals who have ingested or been exposed to harmful detergents, including decontamination procedures and first aid.
